American Muslims also face the problem of raising educational standards on the basis of which the educational programs of Islamic educational institutions are built. In fact, the development of Islamic curricula in the United States has been going on for several decades thanks to the efforts of the organizers of the leading school network of Sister Clara Muhammad and the efforts of newly arriving immigrants, the main wave of which occurred around the late 1950s and 1960s.
Although Muslims in the United States have always maintained high standards of quality in education, they have recently made a concerted effort to secure accreditation by American certification bodies. So, recently in the state of Texas, Brighter Horizons Academy received accreditation from the state body of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Thus, this trend of simultaneously providing high quality curricula and obtaining government bodies significantly improves the quality of Islamic education. Muslim children learn about their religion from the most trained and accredited teachers.
